THE STORY OF SALVIA VILLAS
It all began in the picturesque, traditional village of Skouloufia, near Rethymno city, where the owner, Stelios Kalligiannis, was born and spent his childhood.
After leaving his hometown to pursue studies and professional growth, Stelios came to realize the modern person’s deep need for calm, rest, and peace of mind.
And so, the idea of creating Salvia Villas was born — a serene retreat designed to offer guests the tranquility and comfort he once found in his beloved village.

The name of our luxurious accommodation, Salvia Villas, is inspired by the Latin name of sage — an aromatic herb that grows abundantly in the wider area of Skouloufia and has been renowned for its medicinal properties since antiquity.
The word Salvia comes from the Latin salvere, which means “to feel well and healthy, to heal,” referring to the herb’s restorative qualities (Wikipedia).
Each of the holiday villas — Villa Irini, Villa Antonios, and Villa Marigo — is named after a beloved member of Stelios Kalligiannis’s family, who supported the realization of his vision, symbolizing the warmth and family spirit that fills the entire villa complex.
